Hello, my name is Jewels! Despite my initial shyness and nervousness with new people, my friends here at the shelter say I'm a very sweet girl! It might take a little bit for me to warm up to you, but I promise to show you how lovely I really am. I've been told that I'm quite the talker, maybe we could have some nice conversations? I'm still trying to understand the world around me and am now starting to learn my manners with the help of the staff here.

IN-SHELTER NOTES & IDEAL HOME
SIZE:
55 lbs
HOME TYPE:
House or Townhouse - No shared walls or apartments due to being vocal.
CHILDREN:
Yes - Older children or all adults as she is a large nervous dog, lacks manners and has shown resource guarding.
CATS & SMALL ANIMALS:
Yes- cats potentially compatible with slow proper introduction.
OTHER DOGS:
Yes- Dogs potentially compatible.
ACTIVITY/ENERGY LEVEL:
High; will need a lot of daily exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation.
HUMAN COMPATIBILTY:
First time dog owner possible.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/NEEDS:
Minimum 2 in-person training sessions to work on the following; Basic obedience, Basic manners (jumping up, mouthing), Socialization, Barrier reactivity and Resource guarding.
HUMAN SOCIAL IN SHELTER:
She can be nervous or shy with new people but once comfortable with somebody she is very friendly and outgoing.
FAVOURITE THINGS:
Stuffed toys!
