Meet Shaggy, a sweet but shy little guy with a one-of-a-kind look that's all part of his breed charm!
~ Shaggy is a small mixed breed with a nearly hairless body and thin coat, which means he'll need to wear a jacket in cooler weather to stay warm. Due to his unique skin care needs, we highly recommend researching hairless/thin coated dog skin care or consulting with your vet to understand how best to keep him healthy and comfortable.
~ Shaggy came in with a group of other small dogs and, while he's very nervous, his gentle nature shines through once he starts feeling safe. He currently lacks obedience skills, any leash skills, house training, and social experience, so he'll thrive in a calm, experienced home that can give him time to adjust and grow.
~ Shaggy's adopter will need to sign him up for three mandatory in-person positive reinforcement training sessions before he leaves the shelter. ~ An ideal home would have older, dog-savvy children who are gentle and calm around him. Because Shaggy can be a bit of a flight risk, an able-bodied adopter will be essential to keep him safe and secure.
If you're ready to help Shaggy blossom and grow into his best self, he's eager to find a patient and loving forever home!
