Sweet Sammy came to MLAR thru our Animal Law Enforcement officers. This poor guy was matted and had bite wounds on him. Once in our clinic, it was discovered that he is FIV+ . This poor guy had the deck stacked against him. Since arriving, he has healed very well and his coat has come in beautifully. He is a gorgeous long-haired panther! Sammy loves to be pet in his cage. He roll over on his side and ask you to keep petting him. He has started venturing out of his cage and exploring the cat room. He will need a patient home with someone who will give him the space he needs to blossom. FIV+ cats have a weakened immune system and then can still live a long healthy life. Sammy has some issues, but we know there is someone out there willing to take a chance on him and give him the life he deserves. He is still a young cat with many years ahead of him.
If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared -- bring a photo ID, proof of current address and a cat carrier. We are open daily 11-5pm.
