Buddy was adopted by Kevin & Stephanie Woods. Congratulations Buddy, he has found his forever loving parents in Kevin & Stephanie! Buddy had a long battle of heartworms and successfully overcame those issues. Thank you Kevin & Stephanie, for opening your hearts and home and being patient while Buddy was recovering. Special shoutout to Buddy's foster parents, Valli & Tom, cared for this special boy through the heartworm treatments!! Did you know April is Heartworm Awareness Month? Here at Pug Rescue of Sacramento, we come across heartworm cases all too often. Even now, we have a pug in our care, Buddy, who is being treated for heartworm. Buddy was dumped on the streets of Stockton. Despite this ordeal, he came into our rescue in good spirits and seemingly healthy. Unfortunately, his bloodwork revealed otherwise. He was diagnosed with an advanced case of heartworm. Treatment for heartworm is expensive, averaging $2000, and involves a lot of medicine and 120 days of being crated. Buddy is at 60 days and halfway through treatment.
