Hemingway the cat is ready to write the next chapter of his life's journey in a home he can call his own with his brother and best amigo, Ernest.
"The way to make people trust-worthy is to trust them," is an Ernest Hemingway quote that certainly resonates with our boy. Time spent in a loving foster environment has allowed Hemingway to become more confident and comfortable. A calm, low-energy boy, Hemingway can be found lounging in comfy cat beds during the day and sleeping at the foot of his foster mom's bed at night. No mojitos and late nights for this boy!
The key to success with Hemingway is to approach him slowly. When sleepy, Hemingway enjoys being pet for short periods of time. Might he be pondering his next literary masterpiece? Once ready to put pen to paper, he would prefer that you wait for his next nap to shower him with love. Hemingway also enjoys the company of the foster family cat, willingly accepting more pets when both are being pampered. He may never become a lap cat but he will be a loyal companion for life. Hemingway will also add some entertainment to your household as he enjoys a good romp with his brother and loves his catnip toys. (A healthier choice than Cuban cigars!)
Hemingway would like you to know that he wants to spend the rest of his life with Ernest, so they will need to be welcomed as a pair. They currently share their space with resident cats and would be happy to add more feline love to any home. A calm atmosphere where he can lounge around with his brother and enjoy life to the fullest will suit him perfectly.

The famous author once wrote "There is no friend as loyal as a book." Our boys would like to change this Hemingway quote to read: "There is no friend as loyal as a cat." Who could disagree with that?

The adoption fee for a single cat at EHS is $175. Take home an adult feline friend for your kitty and the adoption fee for the pair is $300! For kittens under six months of age, the adoption fee is $200...or, double your cuteness quotient and adopt two wee furballs for $350! If you mix and match (kitten plus cat), the adoption fee is $300. Each of our cats is spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, snap tested for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption. Kittens are not spayed or neutered until 5 months of age, but the cost of spay/neuter will be covered as part of the adoption.
