Bonjour Pierre, our purr-fect panther!

Even though his name suggests a French background, we're pretty sure the only language Pierre speaks is kitty cat, and he would like you to know he is looking for his fur-ever home!

Pierre became a member of the EHS family when his owner passed away. A kind neighbour noticed his distress and reached out to EHS for help. Poor Pierre required major dental surgery, and all of his teeth needed to be removed. Thankfully, he is feeling much better now, and EHS volunteers are making sure he is in tip-top shape for his new family.

Pierre is super sweet and proving to be a real cuddle bug. Volunteers report that he is very friendly and loves company, taking great delight in the luxury of belly rubs and having his sleek black fur brushed. Actively seeking out affection with head bonks, pressing against you to ask for more, Pierre will reward your attention with happy purrs and maybe even an elevator butt! If he thinks you are going to leave him alone, he may give you a little swat to say, "Please don't go!" Like many panthers, Pierre may become overstimulated, so best to watch his body language.

Pierre hasn't revealed his playful side to us yet, but during a short stint in a foster home he could be heard running around at night, pouncing on toys. His self-assurance really came out while in foster. Although sometimes startled by loud noises, Pierre confidently followed his fosters around with his handsome tail up.

Pierre would like a home where he gets a lot of attention and where he is not left alone for long periods of time. A calm, quiet household without small children or dogs will probably suit him best. Pierre has FIV, which is a virus that weakens the immune system of a cat. It is not transmissible to humans or other species. Cats who have FIV can live just as long as other cats if they are properly cared for with a good diet, indoor home, loving family, and vet checkups twice a year. Pierre does not require medication for this condition. We're not sure if he would enjoy the company of another friendly FIV+ cat.

Just like a little black dress, an elegant house panther goes with everything! Is your home the place where Pierre can have a second chance at life? Fill out an adoption application to find out!
--------------------
The adoption fee for a single cat at EHS is $175. Take home a feline friend for your kitty and the adoption fee for the pair is $300! For kittens under six months of age, the adoption fee is $200. Or double your cuteness quotient and adopt two wee furballs for $350! Each of our cats is spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, snap tested for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption. Kittens are not spayed or neutered until 5 months of age, but the cost of spay/neuter will be covered as part of the adoption.
