***IN FOSTER***

Hungry like the Wolf!

(But don't worry, Wolf eats portioned, regular cat food!)

Wolf was abandoned by her owner and temporarily taken in by a friend before transitioning to EHS and into a foster home. Like most cats, Wolf is not a fan of change and is adjusting to her new environment at her own pace.

Wolf actively seeks affection with a meow or a head bonk, and spends most of her time out in the open, relaxing on top of furniture or her cat tree. At night, she likes to snuggle up to her foster's legs in bed. She has yet to decide on a preferred type of toy, but once she has conducted an extensive review of each one, she will let us know. Wolf is a confident and friendly lady once she gets to know someone; however, she becomes fearful when uncomfortable, responding with a hiss or growl. She is also easily startled by loud noises or sudden movements. We predict this behaviour is due to all the unexpected changes in her life and will subside over time.

Her interaction with other cats is limited (and a bit hissy), so Wolf would prefer to be the one and only cat in her future home. Her experience with dogs and small children is unknown, but due to her tendency to be easily startled and fearful when she is feeling unsure, her ideal home is one where she is the only pet.

Wolf needs an experienced, patient adopter who will work with her to ease her fear and anxiety. She is currently taking a weekly dose of Gabapentin to treat her anxiety. We anticipate that Wolf will not need to take this medication long-term.

If you're on the hunt for a cat like Wolf, please submit an adoption application to welcome this black beauty into your home!
--------------------
The adoption fee for a single cat at EHS is $175. Take home an adult feline friend for your kitty and the adoption fee for the pair is $300! For kittens under six months of age, the adoption fee is $200...Or double your cuteness quotient and adopt two wee furballs for $350! If you mix and match (kitten plus cat), the adoption fee is $300. Each of our cats is spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, snap tested for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption. Kittens are not spayed or neutered until 5 months of age, but the cost of spay/neuter will be covered as part of the adoption.
