Hi, I'm Cody - Nervous Wreck Turned Love Bug ??
Okay, cards on the table... I'm kind of a mess. But hear me out! I'm the sweetest mess you'll ever meet.
I'm a one-year-old German Shepherd mix, and let's just say... life's been a bit overwhelming so far. New people? Gulp. New places? Double gulp. I'm still figuring out how to be a confident, happy dog-like, I'm not even totally sure what toys are for, but I'm open to learning if you're patient and kind (and maybe come with treats).
See, I'm what they call "insecure," which I think just means I need someone who won't give up on me. Someone who can help me see the world isn't so scary after all. With time, gentle guidance, and some cozy cuddle sessions (I love snuggling once I trust you), I promise I'll blossom into the loyal, affectionate pup I'm meant to be. Underneath the nervous energy is a whole lot of love just waiting to come out.
I've lived with kids and did great with them, so I wouldn't mind some little humans in my new family! I can be picky about dog friends-I'm not into sharing my things (can you blame me?) and dogs seem to make me even more nervous (can you believe that?!). so if there's another pup in the home, they should be very respectful, pretty chill, and able to ignore me while I warm up (which could take a while!).
A note from me (and my nerves): no apartments, please. The noise, the elevators, the neighbors-it's a lot for a guy like me. I need a calm, quiet home where I can exhale and take my time adjusting.
So, if you're the type who sees potential behind the wide eyes and unsure tail wags-if you're the "slow and steady wins the race" kind of human-I think we could be something special.
