Please meet Maisy! Such a cutie, Maisy is new to Chicago and looking for someone to show her why living in Chicagoland is the best! While Maisy's past may be a mystery, we know that the shelter she came from loved her and wanted to give her the opportunity for a great new life, so off to Anti-Cruelty she went. Dogs new to this area need some time coping to all the new sights, smells, and sounds, so adopters will need to allow Maisy lots of time to adjust to her new environment. Patience, yummy treats and some positive reinforcement training will help Maisy fit into a variety of homes around the Chicagoland area. Pretty soon Maisy will be bragging that living where zippers, Twinkies and deep dish pizza were invented is pretty awesome! Maisy is one of our special care pets, meaning she requires a little extra love in her next home due to a small mammary mass from a recent litter of puppies that caused inflammation in her previous home. Mammary masse's should be monitored and require a 1-2 month check at a private vet. Adopters should watch for enlargement and if mass remains and should get testing in future vet visits, no treatment would be required at this time but surgery could be considered if it continues to enlarge. Maisy has been a bit shy while in the shelter and is presently in foster care. If interested in meeting this sweet girl, contact the Anti-Cruelty to arrange to meet her!
