Whassup? I am Tony and I'll be a 4-year-old Staffordshire Terrier soon. I am peppy, fit, quite handsome, and have beautiful unique cream and tan markings and soft eyes that seem to look right into your heart. June will mark the 1-year anniversary of my being at the Humane Society of Sedona. I ended up at the shelter after some nice people found me wandering the streets of Sedona in the summer heat last year. I am thankful that they helped me out because I couldn't find my own way home. I am happy and hopeful here at the shelter, but I am ready to be adopted!
I LOVE summer because my favorite activity is splashing in the kiddie pool. I am the Michael Phelps, Mark Spitz and Ryan Lotche of the dog world all rolled into one but without all the Olympic gold medals! I love being active and exercising as it provides me with the mental stimulation that I need to enjoy life. I am agile, love to run and look forward to long games of fetch.
I have a small and compact body and short hair that requires minimal grooming. My previous owners didn't consistently train me, so I need my adoptive family to be reliable and provide me with more guidance to manage my independent spirit. I know that I am trainable as I know "sit and shake" already but would like to learn "come, stay and leave it" directions. I want to please my humans, and I am comfortable around people.
I am a funny and entertaining dog that likes to do fun things. I get a goofy smile on my face when I am happy and that is most of the time. My smile is contagious, my hilarious antics, and my swim style are comical - what more could you look for in a four-legged companion?
I don't know much about my past but I'm really looking forward to a new future with you! I've been told that I am full of energy so I my perfect forever family would need to make sure that I get lots of walks, hikes, swim time, and lots of fetching. If you are looking for the perfect adventure buddy, my friends at HSS would tell you that I'm your guy! I know basic commands and am so excited to learn all the new things you want to teach me. A home where I am the only dog and a house with a fenced in yard would be a dream come true as I am not fond of other dogs in my space.
I have learned basic manners, walk on a leash, can sit and be patient. I am microchipped, up to date on vaccines, neutered and potty trained.
