Axford is doing his best prairie dog impression. This young man is quite the character! He is social, playful, cuddly, and great with other cats. It's always a wonder as to why he is still looking for a home.
Axford is part of our Fabulous Feline FIV colony.
What is FIV?
Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV)
FIV is an auto immune disorder. Cats affected with this virus often are unable to fight off illnesses as well as cats that are not positive.
How do cats get the virus?
FIV spreads among cats is through bite wounds or from mom. These are typically pretty aggressive fights.
·Can FIV and non FIV live together?
Studies have shown the cats can live together without transferring the disease. This is at the owners discretion and we ask for you to do your homework.
Can people or dogs get FIV?
No! They can live with other animals just fine.
Take a chance on Axford or one of his many friends and visit his room!
*Cat rooms at Lakeland are open to the public during the time of open hours of Monday-Friday 12p-5p, Saturday 11a-4p but Delavan PetSmart is by appointment.
