Toffee was spotted running along Waller Mill Road as stray by several people for a few days, but she was so scared that nobody was able to catch her. She ended up entering a backyard and being contained in the yard for several days but still wasn't able to be caught! She's one smart cookie! Despite a humane trap being set in the yard with tasty cooked bacon and treats, Toffee still wasn't having it! Luckily, though, after a lot of time, her new human friend gained her trust enough to get a leash on her.
Toffee is scared at the shelter, but she has been making some progress. It is going to take her time to trust in a quiet environment, so we are recommending a home with no small children at this time. Since she's a stray, we have no history of how she does with other dogs. So far, though, she hasn't shown much interest in other dogs yet.
Toffee will likely need to do several meet and greets before she feels comfortable.
