Hellie is a very sweet, but very shy girl. She was found as a stray wandering the streets, so she is nervous and is working on figuring out that humans are her friends. From not moving from her crate at all, to wandering the house and finding the big fluffy dog bed, Hellie has been working on confidence in her foster home.
She has done very well with routine and would appreciate that in her forever home! We have never seen any aggressive behavior from her, even when she is not comfortable. She is the sweetest girl, but is scared easily. Therefore, Hellie is looking for a home with a dog companion that can show her the ropes of being a pet in a loving home (she has been good friends with her foster sister and a friend's dog). She is also looking for a home with older or no kids as everyone in the house needs to respect her boundaries while she is working on her confidence. She does not mind cats, and is uninterested. Hellie's forever home needs to understand that she will probably not be a dog park dog, or one that will snuggle on the couch for some time/if ever. We are confident that with the right house, she will grow and be an amazing dog. She has been doing well with her foster parents working on being close to them and being comfortable with proximity to humans, and will continue to work on it. Hellie loves to be outside and sniff everything she can find! She doesn't love being on a leash, but is working on her walking skills in her foster home.
