Fusion - ADOPTABLE

Fusion is a lovely 9 year old Rottweiler mix. She came to the Manor in need of major surgery on her left hind knee. Now that she has fully recovered she is ready to find a family of her very own. To protect those very precious knees and reduce the risk of damage to the right side, Fusion will need to maintain a healthy weight of 39 kg and her activity level will have to remain moderate. On leash sniffer walks, boosts into the car and no opportunities to chase the neighborhood bunnies or rough play with other dogs will keep her active and entertained without risking her mobility. She is very comfortable in her harness and will need to continue wearing that as an aid to help with her stride.
Fusion enjoys a high quality geriatric diet with joint support and daily probiotic. She permits having her teeth brushed and enjoys her dental chews. Nail trims are not her favorite although she is learning to tolerate them as they are required frequently to assist with traction control and paw placement which in turn helps protect the knees. Fusion has easily adapted to her foster family's routine and is completely housetrained. She will signal (paw) at the door to be let out. She sleeps very well through the night. She is a quiet girl that rarely barks but it has been noted that she sometimes will bark and howl when left alone, no condo neighbours for this girl. Being food motivated, she is a total counter surfer and would devour your entire meal if left unattended! She does not beg for food, but will quietly lie on her bed. Fusion has no noted allergies, has a good appetite and has not shown any resource guarding. This sweet and gentle soul loves being touched and brushed. Once you have gained her trust, she likes tummy rubs and will ask for more, leaning in to you and sitting on your foot are all signs of affection. Being a strong chewer, Kong toys, pull ropes, and antlers are good choices, soft stuffy toys don't stand a chance! She will very gently and gratefully accept treats. While in foster care, Fusion has been very limited to doggy dates, as her knee was healing. She can be eager to meet other dogs and becomes jumpy and overstimulated. She would do best as the only pet in the home and requires slow, guided intros with others. Fusion will sometimes react to movement, such as lights, shadows or cars. This type of arousal is unhealthy but can be easily redirected with treats.
Fusion is exceptionally loyal and loving and with one look into her eyes you can see her beautiful soul within. She merits a family who will cherish her kind spirit and offer her a special lap of luxury.
