Hi, my name is Siren. I was born in another shelter (Feb 2022) and rescued by this shelter with my 7 siblings when we were only 5 weeks old (Apr. 2022). I have never been in a home and am now over a year old (as of July 2023). I am a very sweet girl, but am very shy with strangers, as I have never gotten the socialization needed to help me become a more confident dog. I love the shelter staff and all of the regular volunteers, but they all tell me that I will be much happier in a home. Since I have only ever lived in shelters, I will most likely be more work than your "typical" adopted dog, but I am very loving and loyal and will definitely show all of my love and appreciation for you once I know that I am loved and in a stable environment. I love this shelter, as it is my home, but it does tend to stress me out quite a bit. I have picked up a lot of the stress behaviors here at the shelter, so I tend to bark and act a little crazy when people come to visit here at the shelter. But, it has been scary for me to watch all but 3 of my siblings get adopted, as well as many other dogs since I first got here. Each time, new dogs would come and go and I would get passed by so quickly. Can you believe that nobody has so much as submitted an adoption application for me?! I hear the staff talk about it and they seem to be pretty shocked by that. If you are looking for a loving dog that will learn everything by your side and you have lots of patience, please call or swing by to check me out. I would love to finally have a family of my own and go out in the yard to play whenever I want to, and to be able to go up to get my head patted, or a belly rub when I am feeling insecure. I have never really been around small children, so it would probably be best that I do not go into a home with very small/young children to help avoid any misunderstandings or mistakes on my, or their end. I was introduced to the cats here when I was just a young pup and I did fine (to be honest, they are kinda scary), but that was a while ago, so if you are interested and have any cats, please ask the shelter manager to evaluate me with them again. If you have any questions, or would like to meet me, please ask staff.
Love,
Siren
