Hi, my name is Maggie. I was taken to another animal shelter when my owner was rushed into the hospital. He was going to come back to get me and the other dog I came with, but unfortunately, his health declined, and he passed away. I loved my owner very much, and it took me quite a bit of time to get used to life without him, but I am finally ready to find a new family. I would love to find someone who will spend lots of time with me and love me for the rest of my life. I am a very loyal dog, and I cannot wait to be in a home again. This shelter isn't a bad place to live, but it isn't a home. I am an emotional girl, and I like being able to go over to my person for reassurance and love when I am feeling down. I love kids, so I would do well in a home with children of any age. I have been in the shelter since June 2021 and am starting to get very sad. I really like to be with people, I do not like to be alone. I need a home with someone who is home most of the time, as I will destroy walls or anything else in my way of getting to my person. I do pretty well with other dogs, but I do not hesitate to stand up for myself, so I would need to be around dogs with personalities similar to mine (I really like small breed dogs and puppies), and I also do well with cats. As you can see in my pictures, I love to sun bathe in my chair, so it would be great to have someone sitting in the empty chair beside me.
