The male rats are ready for adoption! Rats are very social and must be adopted to a home with other rats.

These little guys were found running around as strays near the UoI campus. The finders tried contacting other rescues but could not find anybody else to help. Since we already had the supplies, we stepped up to take these little ones on. We held them for a week and they have not shown any signs of being ill, so they are ready to find forever homes!

When deciding on whether to neuter/spay pocket pets, we consider the risks, benefits, and cost. Rats can be neutered to help with cohabitation, but being intact does not cause any known health risks nor are there any health benefits to this surgery, however there is a risk with anesthetizing an animal this small and a large cost for this procedure. In this case, the risks outweigh the benefits and these rats are NOT neutered. This means they will need to go to a home with other males only, or with spayed females so they do not breed.

The adoption fee is $12 per rat or 2 for $18!
