💝💝SAAP Nation, please welcome Sadie back!💝💝
💝Sadie originally came to SAAP as a tiny puppy with a broken hip. She healed with us for weeks after FHO surgery, which literally happened the week the world shut down from Covid. She's a true pandemic dog! Sadie was recently returned with medical issues left untreated by her adopters. We've gotten her all healed up once again, and she's ready to start her search for her true forever home! 💝Sadie is still the sweetest, most loving girl we remember! We know she grew up with toddlers, and is very gentle and loves to give kisses. She loves our resident dogs and loves to play with the foster pups who have visited. She completely ignores the cats, and really truly treasures her humans. Her cuddles and love are beyond compare. 💝Sadie is 3 years old, fully grown at 50 lbs, house trained, and has been much better about going in her crate, especially with treats waiting! She's not destructive when left out, so may be fine without one. She has some separation anxiety when we leave (again, pandemic pup!), and will cry and whine in her crate until she settles, so we are not recommending her for apartments or condos. 💝Some important medical things to know about Sadie: -She returned with skin allergies, and is currently on a salmon-based food, and those have cleared up, along with medication. We recommend keeping her on that type of food but the medication is done. -She does not like trips to the vet. So much, in fact, that she will work herself into a seizure when taken. Our vet partner put her on an anti-seizure medication as a preventative. She may or may not need this long-term, but we don't know yet. Another possible solution may be having a mobile vet come to her forever home to see her there. 💝We'll be looking for a special adopter for this girlie... if you are the one, please fill out an application at www.adoptastray.com!
