Owen is a very special young boy that will need an equally special adopter! Owen has hemophilia, a blood clotting disorder. What this means is that any serious trauma or surgery needed in his lifetime will be required at either a specialty center (ie. Medvet, Care Center Vets) or be pre-arranged with your veterinarian to have blood on hand as a transfusion will be needed. At this time, Owen requires no medication in his daily life and can live a relatively normal day to day life.

At 5 1/2 months old, he is 40lbs and is expected to be a big boy when full grown! He is believed to be a mastiff mix.

Owen LOVES playing with his foster dog siblings but can be a little too much for the 5lb chihuahua :) while he does love romping around with his foster dog siblings and ideally would have canine siblings in his adoptive home, he will need to be supervised to make sure the play doesn't get too rough to where he could get injured accidentally and bleed excessively. He can be very rowdy, mischievous, ornery, and rambunctious - so if you're needing to complete your daily steps goal, he can help you with that! He is trying very hard to be potty trained but isn't quite there yet. Owen LOVES to eat.... including things he shouldn't eat or chew on so he will need someone to make sure he doesn't get a hold of something harmful that could be poisonous or something that could cause a blockage if consumed. He also needs someone with lots of patience to continue teaching him what's appropriate and not appropriate to chew on.
He has not been exposed to cats yet. He probably wouldn't try to hurt a cat but may annoy them by chasing them trying to instigate play. He would need a patient feline friend if he were to coexist with one.
Owen enjoys walks, fetch, and durable squeaky toys.
He knows sit, give paw, and is getting the hang of down. Owen is a sweet boy who is loved IMMENSELY by his foster parents.
Since SAAP is not "first come, first serve" but is instead a "best fit" rescue, Owen is accepting applications (https://adoptastray.com/dog-adoption-application/) from prospective adopters and his care team will be reviewing all apps attempting to match him with the best possible home for him.
