Sheldon is a sweet loving senior hound mix who is looking for a low key home to live out his retirement years. Sheldon is house trained and doesn't need a crate. He loves short walks and is very food motivated. He knows how to "sit pretty" for snacks and loves a good belly scratch. Sheldon was diagnosed with Endothelial Degeneration last year and had Gundersen flap surgery to try to maintain his vision. The surgery was successful but then he was diagnosed with KCS (dry eye.) He has significant vision impairment and is on 3 drops 3x a day that he will likely be on for life. He is extremely tolerant with the drops and it's just a normal part of his routine. He will also need regular visits the the eye institute for rechecks (about every 4 months.) While he does have some major vision loss, he gets around great and is such an adaptable dog. He loves being next to his people and begs for attention any chance he gets. He lives with multiple other low energy senior dogs and does great. He does not do well with high energy dogs or puppies. He is fine with cats and ignores them. Because of his vision impairment he does not tolerate being climbed on or pulled at so he should not live with young children. He would do great with teenagers or older kids who can respect him. Sheldon would also prefer a home without too many stairs. Apply to meet this handsome boy!
