***** NEW KID ON THE BLOCK *****

This sweetheart is Riley. He was an owner surrender as they were unable to care for him. He is active but also calm - a good mix of both. He'll play tug-o-war, and when he's worn himself out, he'll lay at your feet or go to his crate. He loves people and dogs. Cute as a button despite his eye condition (the cloudiness and redness in Riley's eyes are due to an age-related condition known as endothelial degeneration. He has seen the Veterinary Ophthalmologist and was prescribed a type of eye medication to slow the progression of the disease. There are two types of corrective procedures available but neither has proved very successful in Bostons. The medical report is available for serious adopters).

Riley doesn't care nor act as if his eye issue is a problem. Going for walks, asking for love, playing and being silly are all on the menu. Now he just needs his forever home:

Age: 7 years old

Weight: 21 pounds

Health: Very good except for his eye condition (endothelial degeneration - see above)

Demeanor: Affectionate, sweet, playful, energetic (at times), couch potato (at times)

Likes: People, dogs, giving kisses, playing tug-o-war, following his person, quiet, friendly, peanut butter treats

Dislikes: Thunderstorms, sharing toys (growls but does not bite)

Manners: Crate trained, housebroken, leash trained, knows verbal commands: "sit", "stay", "Riley crate" and working on "down"

Fenced Yard Required: No, as long as he is always kept on leash when outdoors

Tidbits: Riley is a very well-behaved and adorable little man. He knows his manners and won't even jump up on to the furniture or bed (even though he's been encouraged to do so). He likes to run around the house or play tug with his blankie but will then settle down for a nap either at your feet or in his crate (he self-crates). He follows his foster mama everywhere and has tried to engage the resident dog (who isn't all that interested yet). He loves his walks which his foster mama does 5x a day (lucky boy)! He dislikes thunderstorms but a thunder-shirt seems to be helping him. He has really settled into his foster home but is hoping for a forever one soon!

If you can give Riley the love and attention he needs, plus attend to his eyes, please apply.
