Originally, Dorothy "Dot" was a Kulpsville stray for over a year and survived the winter by cozying up to neighbors in the area who kept her well-fed. She was brought to TPK via one of our volunteers in mid-April and was tested for FELV/FIV (neg), vaccinated and micro-chipped. She is super sweet, smart and adorably funny!

When Dot was originally brought into foster care, she was found to have an open wound/mass on her neck. That was removed, tested benign, and the site has healed beautifully. Subsequently, Dot was treated for bacterial and fungal skin infections and evaluated for allergies at UPenn Vet Hosp. She was previously adopted but returned for no fault of her own. Since she has been back in foster care, she has made significant progress in her allergy symptoms and is currently being managed the majority of the time on oral medication (which she takes like a champ!) and allergy shots. Dot still has the occasional flare-up and her adopter is able to consult with the specialist at Penn to help with management. Dot certainly has taken a long, winding road through foster care but has decided she is ready to unpack her bags in a forever home now.

Personality wise, Dot's kinda' perfect! Somewhat dog-like, she absolutely LOVES interacting with humans--even strangers--and enjoys kisses and butt rubs, but isn't overly clingy--so she's the best of both worlds! She's great with kids, mellow dogs, and adult cats (she doesn't really have time for kitten antics). When she's happy she makes the cutest peep we've ever heard. She enjoys sunbathing in an open window, will rollover to tell you it's belly rubbin' time and gets super excited when you break out her feather toy!

Dot is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. She would love a home with either a few other low key animals or would relish being an only pet!
