Remy is a sweet, senior gentleman. He's a happy, lap dog that loves to burrow under the covers and snuggle up with his people. He's good about going outside to potty and uses potty pads on the coldest and hottest days. He is crate trained and will sleep quietly in his crate after protesting for a few minutes although he doesn't need to be crated and he prefers to sleep in bed close to his people or on his dog bed buried under lots of covers. Remy has a heart murmur and had an echocardiogram about a year ago. It showed that his heart is functioning well and he doesn't need any treatment at this time. The vet recommends a yearly echocardiogram to see if medication is needed in the future. Remy also has a collapsing trachea which can cause him to cough a lot. He needs to stay inside on hot days and shouldn't ever wear a collar or harness. Remy would do great as an only pet as he doesn't like other dogs. He shouldn't be around big dogs because he barks at them and tries to fight them. He tolerates other dogs his size or smaller. He can sit beside them on the floor but if they get in his space he will snap at them and try to bite them. He is toothless but the other dogs don't know that so if he is in a home with other dogs they need to be the type of dogs that won't engage in a fight when Remy tries to start one. He doesn't like to share his food so he is fed in his crate. Remmy would love a calm, loving home where he can spend his golden years being someone's cherished companion.
