I love cats because I enjoy my home; and little by little, they become its visible soul. -Jean Cocteau

Hi, my name is Barnaby, and I was a little scruffy-looking after living on the streets for so long. Get a load of me now! Handsome, single and ready to mingle! The kind people at the shelter have been getting me fixed up, so I can be adopted. I've been treated for an upper respiratory infection and an ear infection since my arrival in March 2018. I am now healthy and I am looking forward to a having a home to call my own.

Barnaby is a 10-year-old, 9-pound, male white and brown tabby. HSHC staff members say that Barnaby is a very sweet cat, and a good eater despite missing most of his teeth. He is also good at using his litterbox.

Barnaby is an FIV positive cat, which means that his immune system is not as robust as an FIV negative cat. However, research has proven that FIV+ cats can live long lives, if they live indoors, are given regular vet care, and a healthy diet. FIV is not contagious to humans or dogs. They can even live safely with FIV- cats if everyone is altered and kept indoors. but FIV cats can live a long time as indoor cats and don't pose a threat to other animals in your home.

Barnaby is a tough guy for surviving life as a stray, but he is a sweetheart with people. Come meet this adorable, hardy survivor! Barnaby qualifies for the PAWS program if you are 55 or older. 4/4/18
