I am Sam. Sam I am. "Scram!" I said. I am not a lamb! I am a pretty, white and brown tabby, four-year-old girl named Sam. My owner surrendered me to Animal Humane Society in the Twin Cities. When he found me on Craig's list a couple years earlier, I was one cranky little girl! I didn't want to be petted or picked up. I had to be sedated when I went to the vet. Over time, I mellowed. Eventually, I got to like him and other people. At the Humane Society, I was hissing and growling and swatting. When I was first transferred to Paws and Claws, I still would growl and hiss. Now that I've been here a while, I've calmed down quite a bit and love to be petted. Sometimes I even like to be held -- on my own terms, of course. I still have my moments of being feisty though. I should go to a home where there are no small children (even grandchildren who visit). Adults should be willing to let me adapt at my own pace and be happy with knowing that I do not like to be picked up. I get along okay with other cats in my colony room but I get grumpy if they get in my space too much sometimes. Because of this I might do best as an only cat or with one other calm cat. I am Sam. Sam I am. Will you be the one to bring out my inner "paw-someness"?
