Update from India's foster mom !!!
My 10 year old, super chill yellow lab and I decided to foster and we met India. After whelping her puppies she came to Chicago from somewhere in the south and has been with us for her spay and while she was treated for heart worm - for which she is all cleared. She is a gorgeous, ginger, 3 year old, black mouth cur (Old Yeller) - with madly soulful eyes, a deep thinker, and the biggest love I have ever met in my life.India lives life every day like a 5-year old on their first visit to Disney World - everything is wonder and awe, sheer delight, and deep appreciation. This girl, from day one, has been like butter. She just melts into you wherever you are. Yes - she's a 50# lap dog sometimes. Just as sweet as can be and would take a pet, smile, or kiss over a treat every single time. She so wants to learn and to please you - just so you love her. She is house trained. Good with kids. Likes car rides. LOVES being outside watching the birds, chasing the squirrels, and just rocking it sun goddess mode on the deck. She loves playing with her squeaky toys (doesn't even rip their hearts out). And, although I have found a few shoes, in the backyard that she snuck out (sign of affection) - she is not a chewer.India loves my dog and the others that she has met. So, to let this sweet girl live life to the fullest and participate in all the fun things available to pups today, we are currently in a class focused on learning better manners meeting other dogs while on a leash - and she is an excellent student! India has made AMAZING progress in her short time here. She has been very responsive to training and loves learning. Her eyes seriously twinkle when she gets it and knows that she has made you happy! If India could speak, I think that she would tell you her forever home would include people who are home more often than not, had another pup to be her buddy and to play with, had a fenced in backyard to hang out in and watch the squirrels, birds, and butterflies, had lots of car adventures, and humans who LOVE to be LOVED.
