I'm not fully convinced that Vali is all dog. I keep telling people his breed is a mix of dog and more dog. But really, I think he's also part pig and part cat. He is quick to melt into your lap, magically fitting into even the smallest of legs. Once comfortable and relaxed, he makes the most adorable noise. It's a mixture of a pig snort and a cat purr, all the while with a thump of his tail.

Vali is going to be the best pocket sized adventure dog (he's more petite than the pictures appear - weighing in at only 45lbs). He loves to explore and is willing to try anything. He is great in the car and enjoys simply looking out the window. He has the perfect amount of energy for a long hike through the woods or for a run through the park. He is pretty fearless when it comes to trying new things. Vali has learned how to jog on a treadmill and seems to enjoy it more than the average human!

He's probably never had any toys of his own, so he is still learning how to share. His current favorite chew toy is a tree root - which looks oddly like a potato, but hurts like heck when dropped on your foot! He does like to root around the toy bin and chew on every bone for a few minutes before moving on to the next. He's like a kid in the candy store.

He sleeps through the night with his squishy bed in his crate and has been accident free in his foster home. Vali is a quick learner and will work for belly rubs and treats. He is a total love bug!!

Please check our events page at to find where this dog may be shown this weekend. If you are interested in adopting this dog, you must send an application or email us at prior to a Saturday Adoption Event so we know you plan on attending. If we do not receive any communication from you, the dog may be adopted out at our event prior to 12 pm if the perfect home comes along :-)

The breed or breed mix listed for each dog is simply a guess. The profile software program requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. However, visual breed identification is unreliable. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess. Dogs are individuals.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near Chicagoland... we are sorry but we cannot accept any out of state applications. We look forward to speaking with you!
