Lucy is one of our special needs senior kitties. She is diabetic and has her blood tested and receives insulin shots 2 times a day. She's a pretty easy girl to treat, she normally takes her insulin with a little bit of grumbling but really appreciates the petting she gets during the process.
Lucy would love to be someone's spoiled only cat, she loves her soft bed, always manages to find the highest perch, and gives great head bumps. She has quite the regal cat disposition and when she looks down from her perch she appears to be the calico queen of the shelter surveying her kingdom - we're glad she's such a sweet ruler!
We would be glad to teach potential adopters about caring for a diabetic cat and how to test blood sugar and give insulin. The process only takes a few minutes in the morning and evening.
