Can't you tell just by looking at me, that I am energetic! And all those other words as well. Yep, I am a 2+-years-old female combination of Border Collie and Labrador who has yet to become too pooped to pop! I need a home that loves to exercise-running, biking, swimming; you name it, I'm up for it! I am quite a handful for a person not used to active dogs. So, couch potatoes should not consider me as their future pet.

I was a stray back in April 2017 and have been adopted and returned two times because I was a bit too active for my family to handle. Since then I have been attending a class called Calming Your Canine at Paws & Play, to help me learn how to greet new people and to meet other dogs. I really do love spending time with humans! I have gotten much better at politely meeting people, but I still tend to get worked-up when approached by dogs. That means I need to keep improving my interpersonal dog greeting skills. We get an exit lesson from class when you adopt me.

Everyone at the HSHC feels as if I need a job as well as exercise to keep me healthy and well balanced. I think it is safe to say we can eliminate any job that requires opposable thumbs, driving, the English language, or math. What's left, you ask?

Well, in addition to agility work, dock diving, working puzzle feeders to get my food, there are other skills that might be right for me. Herding; Sniffing to locate and gather information; Retrieving; Pulling-- a cart, a sled or a person, pullers gotta pull; Rescuing-finding people or animals in trouble and bringing them to safety. Just about anything that requires me to use my brain in a meaningful fashion is a dog job.

Important facts to know about me include: I am spayed, housebroken, crate-trained, leash-trained, can live peacefully with cats, and do best with kids older than 10. (Little kids tend to get me too excited.) 2/7/18
