If you're looking to truly make a difference in the life of a deserving dog, then Ike might be the perfect match for you! Ike is a 5 to 6-year old hound mix who was surrendered to a very rural county shelter by a hunt club. This poor boy clearly had a bit of a rough time before coming to BARK. He has an old lip injury from a previous attack through the fence by another dog, but we think it just gives him character! Ike is incredibly sweet and gentle, despite his past, and seems to get along well with other dogs. He's friendly, outgoing, and loves spending time with the volunteers - the more attention he can get, the better ! He loves exploring the trails and would be a great companion for an active owner who can involve him in all kinds of new adventures. Ike will most likely need a little bit of work on his house skills, but we're confident it'll be worth the effort. This wonderful dog truly deserves a shot at happiness - with lots of soft beds, belly rubs, and nice meals! Ike has graduated from our BARK Behind Bars prison training program, where he will gained some social and training skills.
