How many dogs do you know that are working on their PhD? Well, my name is Lucy, so now you know one! There are smart dogs, and then there are borderline geniuses like me. My list of mastered commands is big but continues to grow with my training here and I love every minute of it! "Sit", "Down", "Roll Over", "Shake", "Touch", "Leave It", "Show Belly" and "Kiss" were fun, but frankly way too easy and I'm ready for even more! And how many dogs do you know that are working on becoming bilingual? 101 Dalmatians in Spanish has been a huge help (no joke - I've watched it a few times in my kennel and am starting to understand "bien")! But I'm no bookworm, either - I love to run, romp, fetch, tug, and zoom about the indoor agility course here, so if you are an active person too, we could really have a lot of fun together! It's also true that I haven't gotten on well with dogs in the past, but after months of muzzle training, praise, and patience, I am making great strides and progress and everyone is so proud of me! But you might be surprised to learn that the only thing bigger than my impossibly big brain is my heart. When it comes to people, I vibrate with happiness because I love being close to them (not just the hot dog treats in their hands). I simply LOVE people and I'm not above rubbing against them or giving them kisses and head butts which always make them smile (and oh, how I love to make my humans smile). Hiking pal or study buddy, I can be both to you - plus a total lover, all included! I may not have a medical degree (yet), but I can tell the cure for what ails you is ME! Love, Dr. Lucy (soon-to-be) PhD
