Paulie is our success story! She came into the shelter as a feral cat; for months she couldn't be touched and we didn't know if she was male or female (hence the gender-neutral name). She lost her fear as shelter staff and volunteers gained her trust and now welcomes being petted. Paulie is still a little wary of strangers and big changes in her environment.

So, her story isn't over. The next chapter will to find a home with people who have the patience to properly introduce her to a new place (i.e., start her in a quiet, confined space where she has no place to hide until she knows she is safe and is well acquainted with her new family). With time, Paulie should warm up to people and a new home where she knows she is safe and loved.

She is a very pretty girl. Her orange fur is very bright. You feel happy just looking at her. And, she likes other cats.

Paulie had a leg injury before she came to the shelter and she walks with a slight limp. This may preclude her from running fast so she needs to be an indoor only cat.
