Do you have a screened-in-porch or sunroom? If so, Tripp may be the perfect addition to your room! This love bug is an escape artist who likes to get outside and take a trip! But he really needs to be an inside cat, because he is FIV positive.
He is friendly with polite children. He loves attention! Tripp always uses his litter box, and he is already neutered. HSHC staff and volunteers find Tripp to be very friendly and sweet. His problem is that he likes his freedom. So, a room with lots of windows or screens just might do the trick. Or perhaps a walk on a leash would satisfy his wanderlust.

Tripp is a 3.5-year-old, 13-pound male, white and orange domestic medium haired cat. This is a unique guy who needs a home and an owner who can help him enjoy the outside while living indoors. 6/9/18

WHAT IS FIV?
FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. FIV is a slowly developing virus that affects a cat's immune system over a period of years.
FIV IS A CAT-ONLY DISEASE.
It cannot be spread to humans or other animals.
FIV+ CATS CAN LIVE LONG HEALTHY LIVES.
Many have no symptoms at all. To keep them healthy, FIV+ cats should be kept indoors, given high-quality food and regular vaccines.
FIV IS NOT EASILY TRANSMITTED.
The virus can be spread through blood transfusions, badly infected gums, or serious penetrating bite wounds. It CANNOT be spread casually through litterboxes, food and water dishes, or snuggling or playing. FIV+ cats can live with FIV- cats and not transmit the virus.
FIV+ CATS SPEND MORE TIME IN THE SHELTER.
It is difficult for FIV+ cats to find homes because people often do not understand that FIV+ cats are just as loving and sweet and playful as those not infected with the virus.
