Hi my name is Connor, and I'm a 2-year-old retriever mix! I'm such a good boy! As you can see in my pictures, I am one happy dog, my tail never stops wagging. In fact my foster mom calls me wiggle butt! I get along great with other dogs and even cats. I tend to do a little better with female dogs, because I get a little bossy with other males, but if you have a non-reactive male, we could be friends! Sometimes it takes me a minute to know another dog is safe and can be my friend. It also takes me a little time to warm up to new people, but once I do, I am very friendly. I'm hoping I can find a home without small children because they get me too excited and I like to chase them! I have lived with an 8- and 10-year-old and I played with them just fine. I love playing fetch, swimming, going for walks and cuddling! I am crate trained, but I'm also OK loose while you are gone. I'm potty trained too and tell my foster mom when I need to go outside. My foster mom says I'm really handsome and just the sweetest cuddle bug. If you're looking for a happy, healthy, active dog, I'm your guy!

Note from Foster Mom: Connor was adopted and was with a family for almost a year before being returned to the rescue. He is back in a foster home at this time and has adjusted just fine. Connor has a very happy-go lucky personality, which is amazing considering all he's gone through. He does enjoy taking baths and would probably enjoy swimming if he had the chance! Connor has the most beautiful markings but they are difficult to capture on camera. You really must see this handsome boy in person!

A bit on Connor's history:
3/26/16 Here's yet another tale of rescue. Back in January, 2016, my 8-week-old litter mates and I were abandoned in a yard. There was nothing to eat, so all but two of us starved to death. Luckily, my brother (Duncan) and I were rescued thanks to a neighbor's phone call, a rescue police officer, and a veterinarian. I was in pretty good shape for having gone through that ordeal. After arriving in Wisconsin, I feasted on beef stew, chicken, scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, nutritious kibble and lots of treats. I am now a healthy, energetic, bouncy, ready-to-run pup who's eager to take on the world! No one is sure what I'm mixed with, but my foster mom thinks maybe I'm a retriever mix?? I am not a pushover at all, and when I want to play with other dogs, I will definitely let them know it. I love to play with toys and tennis balls although I still haven't figured out what to do if I have a ball in my mouth and I see something else I want. At night, I enjoy chasing a laser dot in the yard, so I'm really looking forward to warm summer nights when I can play much longer outside. When I'm tired out, I love cuddling with my foster family.
