Meet Cashew, a sweet 2-year-old Akita mix who is now available for adoption at the Newport Beach Animal Shelter.
Cashew recently had surgery for a rare condition called masticatory muscle myositis, which affects her jaw muscles. She can eat and drink comfortably, but has some difficulty picking up toys.
Cashew knows how to sit and lay down, and she gets bursts of playful energy from time to time. She would benefit from continued training to help her build confidence and skills. We are still learning how she feels about other dogs.
If you think Cashew might be the right match for your home, we invite you to come meet her.
