Meet Iris - Your New Oversized Goofball!
That's right - Iris! Don't let the floral name fool you, this boy is 100% rough-and-tumble charm, wrapped in a big ol' goofy dog suit. He's large, he's playful, he's got moves, and he's ready to steal your heart (and maybe your spot on the couch).
Iris is the total package: smart, silly, sweet, and just the right amount of ridiculous. He knows a bunch of cues, loves to show off his skills (especially for snacks), and while he sometimes forgets his size and gets a little bouncy or mouthy during play, he redirects like a champ - food motivation for the win!
This big guy enjoys canine company. He previously lived with another dog and would likely enjoy living with a playful pup buddy who can handle his enthusiastic play style but could also easily be your one and only in the home with an occasional playdate with a doggy friend. Cats? Well... let's just say Iris has a strong opinion about small, speedy things. If there's a feline in your life, they better be dog-savvy, cool under pressure, and introductions will need to be slow and supervised.
Iris also used to live with a young child, and he could definitely live with respectful kids again - just keep in mind that he doesn't quite grasp how much space he takes up (imagine a very affectionate linebacker). Grown-ups will need to help him manage all that love and energy around the little ones.
He could happily live in a house, apartment, or even a yurt - he's not picky, as long as you meet his needs for exercise, enrichment, and endless affection. He's a bit reactive to strangers and dogs when he sees them out the window or on walks, but once properly introduced, he warms up surprisingly fast - especially if you're carrying snacks (sensing a theme here?).
On leash, he's a bit of a powerhouse - think determined explorer meets slightly distracted tour guide - but he's willing to learn if you've got treats and patience. And at home? He's all about the snuggles, the playtime, and whatever you're doing, as long as it involves him. If you plan to head out without him for a little while, probably best he hangs out in his comfy crate with a tasty chew, otherwise he might decided your cushions or shoes look might yummy and give them a nibble instead.
So if you've got a soft couch, a sturdy sense of humor, and two hands free for belly rubs and treat dispensing, Iris might just be your perfect match. Come meet him - he's waiting to bring some big dog energy (and even bigger love) into your life!
