Name: Macon
Reason for being at BCHS: Rescued from a southern hoarding case discovered after the hurricanes
Location: Foster home (you need to be an approved adopter to meet him)
Macon was originally rescued from a challenging hoarding situation in Florida, where they lived among over 150 other dogs. Due to the environment he came from he had very little socialization or contact with visitors, he would thrive in an environment that respects his need for patience and gentle encouragement.
Macon was adopted and returned to BCHS because he has a cautious and timid nature. We put him into foster care with his foster mom Laura, because he needed some extra TLC. In foster care he has been working on learning to tolerate the leash, potty training, and gaining confidence through socialization. His foster mom believes he's becoming more confident and comfortable in his surroundings. He has even started to enjoy being on her lap!
The ideal family will have a calm environment and at least one other dog his size to help him feel more at ease. He thrives on companionship and takes cues from his furry friends, making a well-matched canine companion essential for his continued growth. He would do best in a home with no children or teens.
