*****HAS FINISHED HIS HEARTWORM TREATMENT AND HAS BEEN TREATED FOR LYME DISEASE AND EHRLICHIA

Meet Luke,a gentle 6-year-old Coonhound whose soulful eyes and tender heart are just waiting to find a place to truly call home. This sweet boy was surrendered along with other dogs when their previous situation couldn't meet their needs, and when Luke arrived, he was underweight and pretty filthy. But with a little TLC, some regular meals, and a whole lot of kindness, he's already starting to put on the weight he needs-and his joyful personality is starting to shine through.

Luke's journey hasn't been easy. He came into care needing treatment for heartworm disease, as well as medications for both Ehrlichia and Lyme disease-two tick-borne illnesses that can take a toll on even the toughest pup. But with expert veterinary care, a calm environment, and a whole lot of love, Luke has now completed all of his treatments and is healthy, strong, and ready for his next big adventure: finding a new loving home.

Despite all he's been through, Luke's spirit remains unshaken. He's a mellow guy with a gentle nature, the kind of dog who loves quiet companionship and simple joys-like a sunny patch of grass, a scratch behind the ears, and the steady presence of someone who cares. He may start off a little reserved, but once he bonds with you, he's endlessly loyal and full of affection. He's never lived indoors before, so everything from the sound of the TV to walking on hardwood floors may be new to him. But with steady encouragement and kind guidance, he's sure to settle in and grow more confident each day.

This sweet boy would really benefit from having a calm, confident canine companion in the home to show him the ropes and help ease his transition into family life. With another dog to learn from, Luke will gain the confidence he needs to explore this new chapter. He'll also need some support with housetraining, as he's never had the chance to learn indoor routines. But like most hounds, he's eager to please and will do his best once he understands what's expected of him.
Luke is ready to learn what it feels like to be cherished. He doesn't need much-just a safe, loving home where he can finally experience the warmth of family, one gentle day at a time.

Luke has been neutered, microchipped and Heartworm tested. We have updated all vaccines including rabies. He has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention.
