****AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER/FOSTER TO ADOPT AFTER 3/4** TESTED POSITIVE FOR HEARTWORMS AND HAS BEGUN THE TREATMENT PROTOCOL****

Smokey is an 8-year-old male Pit Bull mix who was surrendered by his owner along with many other dogs when their owner could no longer care for them properly.

Smokey has not let his past affect his loving and gentle nature. He knows the command "SIT" and takes treats ever so gently. Smokey is the perfect walking partner and will happily accompany you on your daily strolls.

Smokey has tested positive for heartworm and has already started treatment. This means he will need a low activity lifestyle while he finishes his treatment and his heart heals. But don't let that discourage you, Smokey is still an active and playful boy at heart, who loves nothing more than snuggling up on the couch with his humans.

Smokey is easygoing, laid back, and patient, making him the ideal companion for a family looking for a furry friend with a calm demeanor. He is a constant companion and will be your best friend in no time. Smokey does well with other dogs and loves spending time with kids. Though he may take some time to adjust to the new household routines, with a clean and tidy kennel, housebreaking should be a breeze.

There's no denying that Smokey is a handsome and magnificent older gentleman, with streaks of gray highlighting his cuddly fur. But it's his affectionate, charming, and sociable personality that sets him apart. He is intelligent and happy, and his playful nature will bring endless joy to any home.

Smokey is a senior dog who just needs a family to show him the love and care he deserves.

Smokey has been Neutered. He is microchipped and Heartworm tested (POSITIVE). We have updated all vaccines including rabies. He has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention.
