Working cats are important members of the outdoor community that provide companionship to their caretakers and help with rodent & disease control. They are typically fearful cats that prefer to avoid people but may become friendly with time and a little bit of TLC. To adopt a working cat, caretakers should have shelter like a barn, garage, shed, etc., for the cat to cozy up in. They should also be able to provide daily food and water. All adopters must have a small, enclosed area like a large wire dog crate or a tack room to house the cat in for at least 2 weeks after adoption to give the cat time to adjust.
