Gelfling has been a joy to foster the past couple weeks!

She is a spunky, 17lbs, 4 year old Chinese crested. We originally intended to pull her as the shelter thought she was pregnant, but when we went to pick her up they no longer guessed her to be expecting. We just couldn't leave her behind though and brought her to be emotional support to a different confirmed pregnant pup heading to our house. Pictures of her in her original home (a hoarding house) in the comments.

?? She is amazing with grooming! She allowed us to bathe her (with exfoliating) and clean her ears with no fuss. She actually fell asleep while I trimmed her toenails!

?? She is not a fan of children as they can be loud and disrespectful. If a child is kind to her she is kind in return, but my ADHD child rubbed her the wrong way being loud and stomping feet and she tries to run him out of any room she is in now.

?? She coexisted well with our cat besides eating all his food more than once (we aren't used to small fosters able to fit through the cat door so she keeps sneaking down to get bonus meals)

?? She has done really well with our dogs, but has shown signs of being protective over food against other dogs and until she really knows other dogs, she seems protective of human attention. The first week here she growled at our dogs if they approached when she was in my lap getting attention. Once she really knows the other dog the attention guarding seems to fade away. She was always fine with getting attention with her friend that also came from the hoarding house and has started to accept our dogs being near her while we pet her now.

?? She is doing amazing with house training and has only had a couple pees inside on potty pads. 98% of potties have been outside as we have been offering outside on a schedule of every 2 hours like a puppy while she gets the hang of it.

??? She has done okay with sleeping in a crate, but it is definitely not her favorite and she would love to be in bed with her people.

?? She had a wiggly tooth when she got to our house and was missing a few molars due to decay. The vet is getting her all fixed up today, but she still prefers her food soft. We soak kibble in water and mix with canned food to make it very appealing.

?? She does pretty well on a leash for walks considering she has zero experience with it! She doesn't pull but tends to run in front and lag behind depending on sights and smells she encounters.
