Orchid is looking for a very special adopter. She needs someone who is patient and willing to help her be her best self.
Orchid would do best in a single person home with minimal foot traffic. Orchid loves her person. She wants to be near you all the time. She would prefer someone who is home a lot. Total velcro dog. But... she gets very territorial when other people come into the home. She is currently crated in my kitchen when guests come over and she does amazing in the crate. She will sit quietly and watch dinner being prepared, she'll accept snacks from guests, and wait patiently to be let out. She has more positive reactions meeting other people outside of the home than inside the home. At adoption events, in a crate and on a leash, she was nervous but friendly with people she met. Orchid gets along with the other small dogs in the home but, like most chihuahuas, she doesn't like to share her person. She is very food motivated and would likely respond well to professional training. Orchid loves exploring the back yard, running with the other dogs, and lounging on the patio.
