Hi, I'm Gusto (Goo-stow) AKA Gus, I'm a 4-year-old sweet EB who has some health conditions and behavioral issues that my foster mom is working on with me. I came to BHNW in 2023 and have made great friends with my foster siblings, I love to cuddle with them and with my foster mom. I was born with a congenital heart defect; the doctors say that I have severe valvular pulmonic stenosis. I underwent a balloon valvuloplasty when I was still a puppy which was unsuccessful due to the anatomy of my heart. My heart condition is currently managed by medication, low stress, and a limited ingredient diet. I also have deep face wrinkles that I hate having cleaned, chronic ear infections, and I've had cherry eye and entropion surgeries to both eyes but cherry eye popped out again in one eye. Due to my heart condition, it's been decided to not repair my cherry eye again as it's cosmetic and surgery is too risky for me. So, my foster mom gives me lots of medicine, ointments and drops every day to keep me healthy, but I dread medicine time and fight her; it's a fun game of "catch me if you can" at medicine time!
I LOVE cookies (healthy ones even) and will sit good and sass/sweet talk my foster mom anytime I can get as many cookies as I can. These days, you're most likely to find me curled up on the couch, snoozing the day away. I'm happy to cuddle with my foster fur siblings most of the day, I love a short walk in the woods to check up on the neighbor goats, horses, and cows, and napping on my cot in the yard outside on a sunny day. I love to play with my stuffy animals, and benebones are my favorite chew toys."
