Hello! My name is Maximo and I am a 4-year-old fawn French bulldog with a lot of personality and a big heart!
I do have some complicated health problems, though - severe pulmonic stenosis, a failed cherry eye surgery, a cloudy cornea in the repaired eye, and possibly some very early signs of arthritis in my back legs, as per the vet. I am very active and limber, though! And I am not showing any symptoms of congestive heart failure yet.
Originally I came to my foster parents to await my permanent home, and I thought I'd just be having a great visit with new friends. I'm so handsome and cuddly, though - what's not to like? Then they found a heart murmur at my intake vet appointment, and the cardiologist diagnosed the stenosis. It was decided then that I did not need the stress of another move.
I am still very active, though! I'm comfortable riding the bus, holding down the crumbs at patio pub trivia, stand-up paddle boarding, tubing on the river, hanging at a coffee shop, and shredding sticks at the park.
Big, small, old, or young, I want all the love. I never meet a stranger and am a crowd favorite wherever I go. What I want & need now is the love, security, and extra care for my retirement years.
