Name: Dior, 1yr
Likes: Snuggling!!, Playing with toys. She can play by herself but loves sharing play time with her person, zoomies, sticks
Dislikes: strangers, basements
What would be the ideal home? A quiet home without a lot of new people coming and going.
No downtown/busy area, no apartments. Detached/semi-detached and quiet area ideal. A private yard where she can explore/play and feel safe. A home where someone is home often enough and has the time to do separation anxiety training. (current foster works away from the home)
Good with cats? Unknown but not likely due to prey drive
Good with dogs? Loves other dogs but can play rough. Has only met dogs outside, not inside a home. Unsure how she would share her "space" and toys but happy to play in her backyard.
Good with children? Unknown. Has met 2 kids and didn't react any differently than adults but can be nervous with fast movements. Probably best in a non-kid home due to stranger danger.
Temperament: stranger danger but happy and playful with those she's familiar with. Still young and has lots of energy.
Motivators? Snuggles. High value treats
Any commands? Sit, go get your ball, go get monkey (a toy)
House trained? Yes
Crate trained? In progress
Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? Prey drive. She is very nervous with strangers, does not like crowds. Separation anxiety but is manageable and improving. Does not travel well in the car. Gets motion sick but controlled with medication when car rides are needed.
Once she trusts you, you are her person, but she will take time to get to know you. Is reactive to people walking out front of the house/come near her car when she's in it. She's doing well with reactivity training but still needs more time and training. Has no issues with thunder storms or fireworks. Will sometimes react to fireworks as if someone knocked on the door, not as a fear.
Medical: Dental Malocclusion (no treatment needed)
