Although Ray Charles came to the Manor just four short months ago, we genuinely feel it's as if he's been here forever. At only 16 years young, we weren't sure what to expect when we first welcomed this special senior into our care. But he has surpassed every expectation with his vibrant spirit, and we think everyone who sees him can't help but be touched by his unmistakable personality.
Despite Ray's lively nature, he faces some medical challenges. True to his Misfit nature, he has a heart of gold, yet that heart carries a grade 4 murmur. His kidneys work a little harder to do their job, and poor eye health has left him vulnerable to infections. Skin issues, a breed trait, mean Ray needs regular baths and careful diet restrictions. Most recently, he endured a still undiagnosed episode of severe generalized pain - a frightening moment for us all. Thankfully, after several days of pain relief, he seems to have completely recovered, leaving us both relieved and perplexed.
Ray possesses an undeniable, shining essence of pure personality that radiates into everyone's heart. We are committed to supporting that light for as long as we can. To give him the stable, caring future he deserves, we believe it's best for him to remain at the Manor, in the loving hands of a family who adores him and has experience in elder care - as a cherished, compassionate care case. Long live Ray!
