Toto - Adoptable
Toto came into care with the other chihuahuas back in October and has been waiting for her moment to shine. Initially anxious, she needed some extra time to adjust to a more normal environment. Now she is a bouncy, playful and funny girl who loves wrestling with her housemates and cuddling with her favourite person. She has blossomed into a spunky and independent individual who likes to have four on the floor. She is definitely not a pocket pup who likes to be carried around. If you leave a shoe, a glove or any goody on the floor, she will happily drag it back to her bed and settle in for a good gnaw. She will also easily relinquish her treasure when asked. Toto is a very energetic dog and will go, go, go until you call the party off. On the other hand, she's an excellent cuddler and when she is ready to snuggle will start to climb up your leg like it's Mount Everest until she reaches the peak on your lap. Not one to be hemmed in, she is not a fan of a crate or an ex-pen and likes to be a free spirit. With her boundless energy she is always ready to explore her world and put her nose in anything unfamiliar.
She is, however, still nervous of new people and will bark initially but will calm after a few moments then move in for some attention. Her housetraining is a work in progress, but she uses pee pads in the home and is slowly getting the hang of doing her business consistently outdoors. Toto is well behaved on leash and loves exploring new places. She is no couch potato and this smart, fun-loving little gal would love a home with another playful dog and people who enjoy adventures.
No cats, no small children, no apartments.
Positive based obedience training classes required.
