Winston - Adoptable
Winston's big day is finally here!
His aortic repair is ancient history and his megaesophagus is a thing of the past! Now this boy can chow down like the rest of the pack with wild abandon. He is healthy and raring to find his new family.
Winston came to us a bit anxious due to having had little guidance before. To help him feel more at ease, he takes Fluoxetine daily, which has made a noticeable difference. He should continue on this medication initially and get an evaluation his mindset once he has settled into his new home.
He loves to play with other dogs and go for long walks. A bit of a puller initially, he settles in and enjoys the sights and scents. Winston is fabulous with women, but is a little leery of men and new people initially, though he will warm up with time. He finds little children too stimulating and he did try doggy daycare but found it to be a bit overwhelming. Despite enjoying a calmer environment, Winston's dream home would definitely have another dog playmate! He loves to play with other dogs one on one.
While at the Manor, Winston has been very busy! He aced his obedience course so now he's looking for a family that will match his zest for learning. Winston is very smart and would excel at more advanced training or agility. He's a bit bouncy when he gets excited so needs some help in keeping all four feet on the floor. Counter surfing is a particularly favorite game so if keeping your kitchen tidy is your goal, here is your inspiration. While he's not a 'slouch on the couch' kinda guy, he does love to please his people and he can cuddle like a pro. He also travels well. It takes him a few minutes to settle in the car but once he does he's very calm.
Winston would do best with a person who is home more often than not, or another dog to hang out and play with. No cats, no small children.
