Hi, I'm Hobbes-a big, sweet 86-pound Border Collie mix with a heart that's just trying to find its footing. I came to the shelter with my pal Puck, and we've been sticking close ever since. We are leaning on each other while we navigate this stressful place, having him around definitely helps me feel braver. I love playing outside with him, trotting around and exploring when I'm feeling confident enough. I'm a very well-mannered boy and walk nicely on a leash, though I do tend to be a little vocal-okay, maybe more than a little-especially when I see unfamiliar people, dogs, or even when the wind gets spooky! The truth is, I'm still figuring things out and can get pretty anxious in new environments. I could really benefit from some confidence-building and positive socialization in a calm, patient home that's willing to give me the time I need to come out of my shell. Puck helps me be a little braver, so a dog friend who can show me the ropes might be great for me. Deep down, I'm just a gentle soul trying to find a safe place to land-and I promise, once I do, I'll be the sweetest and most loyal companion you could ask for.
My adoption fee of $225+tax covers the cost of my care and stay here at the humane society.
All Pennington County residents must also pay an additional $8 licensing fee at time of adoption.
Happy Adopting!
