Meet Shovel! Our 1 year old, 17 pound, male terrier mix. Shovel is a bright little terrier with a mind that works almost as fast as his tail wags. With his scruffy charm and expressive eyes, he has a way of making you feel like you're the most interesting part of his day by cozying up to you on your lap and offering you his belly for rubs.
Shovel loves to be a close companion and will likely be your own personal shadow, following you wherever you go. When he isn't exploring, he'll happily curl up on a warm lap, soaking in every bit of affection he can get. He's smart, loving, and ready to bond deeply with someone who appreciates both his playful spark and his snuggly heart. For the right adopter, Shovel will be a loyal companion who brings joy, clever antics, and endless cuddles.
Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Saturday and Sundays have walk-in hours from noon to 4 PM. ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second Chance
SPCA, please come during open hours. Adopters will visit with an adoption counselor and complete a short application. Adopters must live within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and be at least 21 years old. Renters must provide proof of pet deposit and/or written permission by landlord to have a pet.
ADOPTION FEES: Includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, fecal, and heartworm test (dogs) or FeLV/FIV test (cats). All cats and dogs are current on heartworm and flea preventative. $275 for puppies under 6 months of age and $225 for dogs older than 6 months. $175 for kittens under 6 months of age and $150 for cats older than 6 months.
